Chat and private messages

Chat is for quick talk with everyone who is in the game right now. Private messages are for one-to-one conversations. The community rules apply in both.

Rooms

On a phone, tap the room name in the chat header to open the list of rooms. On a computer, the room list is a column on the left. If an old link or notification leads to a room that no longer exists, your language room opens instead.

Writing and reading

• Input. Formatting, emoji and images are behind the "+" button to the left of the input. On a computer, Enter sends the message and Shift+Enter starts a new line. On a phone, Enter starts a new line and you send with the send button.
• New messages. If you have scrolled up and new messages arrive, a "New messages ↓" button appears. A "New messages" divider shows where the unread messages start.

Replies, mentions, reactions

• Message menu. On a phone, tap a message or press and hold it to open its menu. On a computer, hover over a message to see a small toolbar; the rest of the actions are under the "…" button. There you find reactions, reply, editing and deleting your own message, reporting, and, for moderators, their tools.
• Reply. Press "Reply" in the message menu and the message you are answering appears above the input. Tap the quote in someone's reply to jump to the original.
• Mention. Type @ and pick a person from the "Mention someone" list. They get a notification if they can see the room and do not ignore you. You can mention several people in one message.
• Reactions. You can add an emoji from a fixed set under a message. Tap a reaction under a message to add yours or remove it.
• Cards. A link to a STRATKA player, club or match is shown as a card with a short summary. External links are not allowed in chat.
• Editing and deleting. You can fix your message shortly after sending it and delete it at any time — others will see "Message deleted" instead.

Who is in the room

The participants button in the chat header opens two lists: "In the room now" and "Recently wrote" (on a phone, as a separate panel). On a wide computer screen these lists are a panel on the right. Under the input you see who is typing. Badges can appear next to a name, for example for a moderator or a champion.

Slow mode and pinned messages

• Slow mode. A moderator can limit how often people can write in a room. After you send a message, the input then shows how many seconds are left until you can write again.
• Pinned message. One important message can be pinned at the top of the room — tap it to jump to the original.
• Moderator restriction. For breaking the rules, a moderator can temporarily stop you from writing in public rooms. You can still read the chat, and the input shows until when the restriction lasts.

Private messages

• To start a conversation, open a manager's profile and press "Write a message". The conversation appears under "Messages".
• Conversations look the same as chat messages. The conversation list shows the avatar, name, last message and time, and marks conversations with unread messages as new.
• You choose who can write to you in settings: "From all", "Friends only" or "Do not accept".
• "Ignore" in the conversation menu stops private messages and mentions from that person.
• System messages from STRATKA. Right after you create your club, a welcome from STRATKA waits in "Messages" — with your starting budget and links to the first steps. These messages carry the STRATKA mark and a "System message" label; there is no need to reply — for questions, use the help center or the global chat.
• Private messages and wall posts are limited by your active time on the site over the last 30 days. If that limit is used up, you cannot write private messages for a while, but chat and the forum work as usual.

If something is wrong

You can report any message — in chat or in private messages — to the moderators from the message menu. How reports and penalties work — see Rules and moderation.
