Match types
Cup matches and friendlies — how they differ for rating, money, fatigue and suspensions.
STRATKA has two kinds of matches: cup matches and friendlies. Both are played live under the same football rules, but they affect your club in different ways.
Cup matches
Cups are the main competition in the game. Your club enters a cup of its own rank and plays a knockout bracket.
- The result changes your club rating, and wins bring in new fans.
- There are no draws in a cup: after normal time a penalty shootout decides the winner.
- Only a home cup match earns ticket money, and reaching the bracket and every stage you clear pays prize money (where the money comes from).
- Cards have consequences: a red card or accumulated yellows lead to a suspension for the next official matches (suspensions).
- Substitutions: up to 3 per match.
Friendlies
A friendly is a match with no risk to your rating. You play it against a bot or against another manager through an open challenge (how to play).
- Club rating and fans do not change, and a draw is a normal result.
- A result reward is paid only for the first 3 friendlies per day.
- Cards stay in the match timeline but do not lead to suspensions.
- Substitutions: up to 5 per match.
Comparison
A friendly is not free for your squad: players get tired and can get injured just like in a cup match.
When and where a match is played
Every match has a kick-off time. Until then the match page shows the preparation, and at kick-off it switches to the broadcast by itself — the broadcast lasts about 12 minutes of real time (what you see live).
Upcoming matches are in the "Calendar" and on the home screen, played ones in "Match History". A club can have only one active match at a time: while it has a match that is about to start or is already running, a new friendly will not be created.
Forfeit
If your starting line-up is incomplete, the game fills it with available players at kick-off. But if the whole club has fewer than 11 available players — injured, suspended and exhausted players do not count — the club loses by forfeit, 0:3.
