Staff tiers and contracts

Every staff member has a tier — a level of skill. The tier decides how strong the effect is and how much the contract costs. A contract always runs for 90 days and is always paid in full up front.

Five tiers

Bronze → Silver → Gold → Premium → Elite. The higher the tier, the stronger the effect and the more expensive the contract. The tier is shown in the candidate's row on the staff market, and the stars next to it show the candidate's rating.

The market shows candidates of every tier — even those still closed to you, so you can see what you are growing towards. The hire button of a closed tier is inactive and says "Tier unlocks at …". How to climb the ranks is explained in "Club rating and rank".

Hiring

1. Open the "Staff market": press "Hire" next to a vacant role in the "My staff" table — the market is filtered to that role straight away — or pick a role in the list on the market itself.
2. The candidate's row shows the role, age, tier and the full price of a 90-day contract.
3. Press "Hire" and confirm. The whole amount is charged at once; there are no weekly staff payments.

A candidate on the market is shared by everyone: if another club hires him, he disappears from the market. When there are few candidates, new ones appear over time.

Only one person can hold each role at the club. To take a stronger person for the same role, you first have to dismiss the current one.

Renewal

• 10 days before a contract ends you get a notification, and the "Renew" button opens in the staff member's expanded row in the "My staff" table. Before that, the button tells you in how many days renewal becomes available.
• A renewal costs the same as a new contract of the same tier and adds another 90 days to the end date — the days you have left are not lost.
• If the club's rank has dropped below what the staff member's tier requires, you can still renew the contract.

End of a contract

A contract does not renew by itself. When it runs out, the staff member leaves, his effect is gone and you get a notification. The role becomes vacant — hire someone again on the market.

Dismissal

The "Release" button in the staff member's expanded row ends the contract at once. There is no penalty, but the money for the rest of the term is not refunded, and the staff member's effect disappears immediately. So the best time to swap someone for a stronger person is close to the end of his contract.

Planning the budget

• A contract is a large one-off expense. Before hiring, check how much will be left in the treasury: the confirmation window shows it directly.
• Contracts signed on the same day also end on the same day. Spread your hires out so the renewals do not all fall in one week.
• An expensive tier pays off only when its effect is actually used: an Elite line coach adds little if you rarely upgrade his attributes.
