The analyst: traits and player statistics
How the analyst reveals player traits, what he unlocks on the Statistics tab and why research can fail.
Every player may have traits — behaviour he chooses in certain situations on the pitch. At first the club knows nothing about them, not even about its own players. Only an analyst can reveal a trait.
A trait works even when unknown
A trait affects the player's game from his very first match — whether you know about it or not. Research does not make the player stronger: it gives you knowledge. Knowing the traits makes it easier to choose the player's position, role and tactics.
How to send the analyst
- Hire an analyst in "Staff". Without one, the research block tells you that you need an analyst first.
- Open the player's page — the "Trait research" block.
- Check the four numbers (see below), press "Send the analyst" and confirm. The money is charged at once.
Before sending, the block shows:
- Cost — a more valuable player costs more to research;
- Chance — the probability that the analyst finds something;
- Duration — how many hours the observation takes;
- Slots — how many studies the analyst runs at once and how many of them are busy.
When the analyst is done, the report arrives in your notifications, and a revealed trait appears on the player's page.
It can fail
- The analyst may find nothing — and then the money is not refunded.
- Nobody knows how many of a player's traits are still hidden. There may be nothing left to reveal — and the game will not tell you.
- You can send the analyst to the same player as many times as you like. After unsuccessful attempts the chance for that player grows a little, and the number of previous attempts is shown under the numbers.
So research the players you really count on: your core squad, youth talents, players you are about to buy.
Other clubs' players
You can research other clubs' players too — for example, before buying. For that the club needs scouting: a scout on the staff or a scout office. Researching someone else's player costs more than researching your own.
Player statistics
The analyst also sets how deep the Statistics tab goes on any player's page. The summary, form, recent matches and career are always visible; the analyst tier opens the rest. Each tier adds its part to everything the lower tiers open.
Other clubs' players reveal less — scouting fog applies:
- without a scout the analyst shows only the Bronze level for another club's player, and the form covers only the last 3 matches;
- with a Bronze or Silver scout — up to the Silver level;
- with a strong scout (Gold and up) or a scout office — up to the Premium level and the full form;
- the Elite level is only for your own club's players.
A locked block says exactly what it needs: a higher analyst tier, a stronger scout, or that it is for your own players only. The game neither shows nor sends the numbers of a locked block.
Analyst tier
A higher-tier analyst runs more studies at once, works faster and finds traits with a higher chance. The exact numbers for your analyst are shown in the research window.
Knowledge belongs to the club
- Revealed knowledge does not fade over time and does not depend on whether the analyst keeps working.
- If the player moves to another club, the new owner starts from zero: he does not get your knowledge.
- If the player ever comes back, everything you revealed about him is still there.
A revealed trait can be developed: trait levels are trained by the personal coach under "Training → Traits". What a trait level is, is explained in the glossary. More in "Player traits".
